Frocks on Bikes - Frockstock!

350 frocks, 700 wheels, 1 cause

What: Join 350 fellow lady frockers on the streets for Frocks on Bikes' maiden voyage.

When: Saturday December 6th 2008, Flock leaves at 3:50 pm, assemble at 3:30

Where: Bike racks, Waitangi Park, Wellington (and Other locations TBC). See the route map here.

Why: To bring about the momentum for better cycle routes in our city, and demonstrate that there is a groundswell towards bikes. To lure SUV drivers to thinking that actually, bikes are a sexy and fabulous way to get around. Invite all your lady-friends!

This event is in conjunction with the New Zealand 350 Climate Action Festival. Not in Wellington - There is a simultaneous ride happening in Auckland!

Second Hand Markets

Turn Your Trash to Cash! Don't put it in the landfill - come and sell it at the second hand markets in Whangarei. The Sunday Markets welcome all old treasures or other gear that you would like to sell. Handcrafts and local products also welcome (not $2 shop stuff!) Come down to the markets on Sunday for a fun community day out. Stalls $20 no bookings necessary just load up and drive in and sell!

Woolston Transition Community Afternoon Tea

Money and Community Resilience

An exploration of the role of money, alternatives to the current financial monoculture, and the design of complementary currencies to build community resilience in the face of global financial disorder. Christoph Hensch, is a community development worker and complementary currency practitioner and member of the Living Economies Education Trust who has had many years of experience designing and running community exchange systems.
Christoph will also introduce his workshop at a free, stand-alone presentation on Friday 20 February, at 7pm

We will serve lunch from locally sources produce (partly organic). 12.30pm-1.30pm

1.30pm-3.30pm we have Collin Walker form the Wairarapa Growing Company, a CSA scheme in the Wairarapa (makes sence).

He will introduce the idea and talk about his experiences and knowledge.

It will be a great day!!
