No Dig Garden Workshops Group

1. Workshops

Bob is an avid gardener and has been lecturing on food issues and offering workshops on "no dig gardens" in the US and here in the past year.

Two hour no dig workshops will be run on Saturday afternoons in local communities. The same technique will be taught each time. No dig sheet composting is an effective way to build healthy soil to grow plants and veggies. It involves building a long and low compost pile on top of existing soil or grass. There is a charge of $10. Size is limited to the first 15 individuals who register in advance at bobjonesinnz@gmail.com

Bob is a very entertaining speaker and is also available to give presentations. Food security refers to the access to and availability of sufficient food for a healthy active life. This includes nutrition, food safety, as well as the ability to acquire enough food.  There are many challenges such as the distance food travels, toxins in food, soil contamination, and the approaching recession. Bob will make a case for how community programs and backyard gardens can overcome these problems.
