cycle4lanes

On this week's Cycle4Lanes ride we followed a route that could be very easily converted to a good cycle route from Raglan to Wainui Reserve. In a few places it needs widening, but mostly it just needs signposts and a 2cm thick layer of limestone dust on the gravel sections. It also needs support from council and community board. To encourage that please think about putting in a submission by Monday 20th April to consult@waidc.govt.nz with your name and address and asking that the Long Term Council Community Plan provides for cycle lanes in Raglan.

The plan (http://www.waikatodistrict.govt.nz/documents/consultation/LTCCP/Volume1-...) says (page 174) Currently there are no defined cycleways but this will be investigated in the future and (page 179) Extend the network by up to 3kms per year to achieve the outcomes of the Walking and Cycling Strategy in conjunction with the parks and reserves activity.

We will probably be having another Cycle4Lanes event from the Creative Market on Stewart St at 10am on Sunday 10th May.
