The Waitati Energy Project visits Pioneer Generation's three 750Kw NEG Micon wind turbines near Roxburgh on Saturday the 13th of March.

This is an opportunity to look at community scale turbines up close and meet Pioneer Generation.

The Weather is looking good, but in event of last minute cancellation then the Fieldtrip will be rescheduled for May. We're not anticipating having to reschedule having checked the latest Meteo and checked on the
conditions expected in Central Otago.

We do know we can expect some wind - all the better to enable us to see these beasts in action!

As most of you know already:

  1. Departure from Waitati at 8am sharp on Saturday, from outside the BRCT office (Old Waitati Store on Harvey Street) [TWO VEHICLES]
  2. Koha of $10 per person to the vehicle owner, BRCT offer further transport subsidy.
  3. 8.30 Pick up extra passangers at Dunedin Farmers Market, south entrance.
  4. 10.30 arrive Roxburgh
  5. Horseshoe Bend tour commences: 3.5 hours estimated total.
  6. Please bring a packed lunch or some kai to share/thermos, etc
  7. From approximately 2pm we may choose to return, more or less
  8. directly to Waitati, via Dunedin (for Dunedin passangers), finish our
  9. lunch in Roxburgh, pick up some fruit, then head back at a more
  10. leisurely pace.

Please bring: warm clothes/wind breaker, just in case; food/lunch and
some drink; $10 for the driver.

TRANSPORT: two vehicles necessary (two of our group are making a
weekend of it, travelling seperately and meeting up in Roxburgh)

Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
