Whangarei Public Meeting
When: Thursday 3rd July from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Bring along a plate of finger food to share, teas and coffee available. Meeting to start at 7pm.
Where: The Anglican Church Hall, Kensington, Kamo Road (nearly opposite Mitre 10).
Koha: Towards the hire of the hall.
After sharing some food and a hot drink, there will be the showing of a video clip of a talk by Rob Hopkins, the founder of the Transition Town Movement and there will be a presentation of some of the key principles behind the Transition Town model and then some time to get into cluster groups and share thoughts and ideas relating to certain key areas like Food, Energy, Waste, Transport and the Economy that the Transition model aims to take to a greater degree of sustainability and resilience.
Hopefully people will begin to get a feel for where they might like to fit in to the Whangarei City Transition Initiative, as it begins to get off the ground. You can check out: www.transitiontowns.org.nz Contact: Genevieve Simperingham 4343542
