Obama's fatalistic statement

"the climate-change bill, for which President Barack Obama had pushed so hard, will not even be presented to the US Senate, because it stands no chance of passage". Don't get me wrong, I can empathise with the sentiment. The reason for noting this was more as an acknowledgement that the leaders are not going to change things the paradigm and herald in the fundamental changes, because the truth is they don't have any more power than we give them. No, I'm not suggesting we should give them more power - to lord over us. I am saying that we need to take individual and personal and then collective responsibility for the ways we live and act and that is what will make the difference.

It sounds like he's blaming

It sounds like he's blaming the little people for government's failure to act, rather than also pointing out the powerful vested interests that have intentionally confused the situation and lobbied governments

political suicide

i would say that his statement is very accurate, and that pointing out the obvious vested interests within congress would only be suicide, he has already rocked the boat with his religious freedom of rights and healthcare views, i say full respect to a man who is willing to speak his truth like that, maybe it will wake up enough people to actually make some change.
