With over 160 members, Eastbay TimeBank has been successfully building community in the Eastern Bay. TimeBanking has been running for over 20 years internationally, and Eastbay TimeBank became NZ's second ever TimeBank.

With TimeBanking, 1 hour = 1 credit. You can earn credit by sharing your skills with others and you can use credit to get support in the areas you want and need assistance. From gardening to belly dancing, computer training to preserving, there are some amazing skills available.

Contact the TimeBank office on 07 308 0198 for more information.

WHAKATANE FARMERS MARKET

The Whakatane Farmers Market has closed for the winter, and will start up again in September. Usually it is open from 8.30am - 12noon on Sundays. You'll find it behind the pay & display carpark on Pyne Street, Whakatane, or you can also get to it from Richardson Street, next to the RSA.

OHOPE CRAFT MARKET

Over winter the Ohope craft market is on the 1st Saturday of the month. You'll find it in (and around) the hall behind the Ohope Chartered Club.

Coming Up:

TIMEBANK GARDENING GROUPS - an alternative method of community gardening, where you get support in your garden, and help others in theirs.

Over winter there are 2 gardening groups running, one running weekdays, and another on weekends. Because things are slowing down in the garden over winter the weekend group are meeting every 3 weeks for a 2hr working bee, doing things like pruning and developing garden beds for spring.

If you're interested call the TimeBank office on 308 0198.
