In this 5 day workshop, you will learn the theory and practise of Permaculture Earthworks - learning site Designing, surveying, and directing earthmoving machines to establish dams, swales, terraces, etc. Geoff uses these techniques to transform landscapes, to make them highly productive, sustainable, and to support intense biodiversity. This workshop is particularly suited to designers working on broad-scale permaculture projects in both arid and humid climates.
Geoff Lawton is an internationally-renowned permaculture educator, consultant and practitioner. He emigrated from England to Australia and later studied permaculture with Bill Mollison in Tasmania. He established the Permaculture Research Institute at Tagari Farm in New South Wales, Australia, a 147-acre farmstead previously developed by Mollison. PRI was eventually moved to Zaytuna Farm, in The Channon, where it continues today.
Since 1985, Geoff has designed and implemented permaculture projects in 30 countries for private individuals and groups, communities, governments, aid organizations, and multinational corporations. He has taught the Permaculture Design Certificate course and designed permaculture projects in 30 countries.

Course Info:
9:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday.
This course will be held at the Koanga Institute, which is located 20 minutes North East of Wairoa. All meals will be provided, and prepared with locally produced, organic ingredients, using the principles of the Weston A Price foundation. (ie- traditional, nutrient dense and delcious!) Students are welcome to stay onsite if they bring their own tent / campervan, with outdoor bathroom facilities. Alternatively, there are several accomodation options available in nearby Wairoa.
