  1. Round of introduction. Noted first meeting was 18 July 2012.

  2. Next Orchard working bee:  3 November 2-4pm.

    • Kirsten to talk to cousin about donation of container.

  3. Stream clean-up:

    • Bev to fill out paperwork for weedbin.

    • Date set for 14 October 10-2pm. Clarkes Organic Butcher donated sausages.

    • Tony & Pam to organise coffee sacks.

    • Sarah flyer at library, supermarket & local board office.

    • Kirsten to send orchard contacts to Pam for Pam to type up.

  4. Edible Garden workshop @ Bishops Creek Community Garden 28 October 2.30pm.

    • Led by Dee Pignuey. 56& 58 Wirihana Road. Open invite to GETT members.

  5. GETT part of Transition Towns website.

    • GETT members can log in, create password & post on website.

    • There is a calendar & can attach files & minutes. Front page for next meetings for GETT & satellite groups. People responsible for events can put upcoming dates.

    • Google Transition Towns NZ/ local groups/ Glen Eden.  Users can filter the content.

    • Davian to test filtering capabilities.

  6. Sewerage Breaches during rains:

    • Alannah promoting with council. Manhole #93 overflows every downpour, result of lack of storage, illegal connections & seepage. Is Auckland-wide issue.

    • Tony to send copy of report to Bev.

    • Look @ setting up phoning system for phoning Council to report overflows. Perhaps GETT members to monitor manholes near their homes.  Council # to report overflows 3010101. Pam to put on website.

    • Tony to map manholes near peoples houses & members to take personal responsibility for our own manholes.

    • Environmental Engineer @ Ceramco Park has identified leachate from landfill. Normally goes to treatment, sewerage system is designed to overflow during storm events.

    • Masters student has approached PTS  to do study on local waterways.

  7. Last PTS newsletter included information on GETT. Jo to email article to  Mels for publication.

  8. Logo for GETT.

    • By-line "Bringing  the Eden back to Glen Eden".

    • Street Party in Savoy Road 6pm, 30 November -"Friday Night @ the Savoy". Bring fingerfood.

    • Pam to contact BioDiversity team to see if they are interested in presenting.

  9. Davian: communications.

    • Gmail account set up, can use for communal emails.

    • Plan: Use TTowns website & see how it goes.

  10. Auckland Council Biodiversity evening was good.

    • Talks on Kokako restoration @ Hunua's, Inanga, skinks & geckoes, bats, integrated pest management, wetlands & shrublands.

  11. Food Group:

    • community garden in Savoy Road.

    • Previous Saturday visited community gardens (Ranui/ Millbrook).

    • Discussion on 2012 West Auckland Community Garden Tour. Sarah to put on GETT website as resource.

  12. Patrick: feedback on GETT poster: focus on positive statements. Use By-line.

  13. Xmas carnival 15 December:

    • GETT stall? Music? Pam to follow-up PTS involvement.

    • Subgroup ( Sarah J, Kristie, Rean) to organise carnival activity, can "cosy up" with PTS.

    • Use By-line.

    • Can give away seedlings - GETT members to plant seedlings now.

    • Looking for volunteers for next meeting.

    • Pam to inform Sarah J re:process.

    • Davian & Tristan organising music/ community visioning stall for festival.

  14. Patrick:GETT event/ workshop 'awakening the dream' look @ mid/late Feb?

    • Will take around 4.5 hours.

    • Looking for 4-10 people to organise.

    • revisit next meeting.
