Transition Whangarei Public Event - Thursday 4th of September 2008
Submitted by Laura on 31 August 2008 - 8:08pmThe next Whangarei Public Event will be held on Thursday 4th September from 6.30pm - 9.30pm at the Cafler Suite, Forum North, Rust Avenue, Whangarei.
The evening will begin with an overview of the Transition Town model, followed by an opportunity to form working groups on Food, Transport, Energy, Education, Re-skilling, Heart & Soul, Local Economy etc. to identify issues and come up with solutions.
There will also be the opportunity to form geographical groups, so more local people will meet each other, have to chance to exchange contact details and meet locally.

Report on our "Community Solutions to Rising Fuel and Food Prices" Event in Whangarei city
Submitted by genevieve on 10 August 2008 - 11:51amOur Community Solutions event in Whangarei city last Thursday was a big success. There were 90 people in the room, so it felt pretty packed. We had stands set up around the room, a food growing table, an education table, an alternative fuel and transport table and a Transition Town table. The tables were well presented with lots of interesting ideas and resources.
