Whangarei is one of over 50 areas in Aotearoa adopting the Transition Town Model to respond to challenges like climate change and peak oil There is a huge amount of interest and enthusiasm in the project and it is already proving to be a magnet to draw together people who have the vision and the energy to work co-operatively with others to create more localized, more resilient and more sustainable systems that have the potential to be much richer, more meaningful, more just and more connected that the current systems.
